Sentosa!

Because i've been stuck at home for so many days (I think i'm going crazy), I finally decided to get my arse off to sentosa yesterday for some good fun! And although I was too lazy too go initially (i'm rather hopeless yes), it turned out to be one helluva day of fun! This beats orchard rd anytime. Sigh, i think it's a pity that there's so much of Singapore's nature/biodiversity that i've yet to explore? Hopefully before the hols end i'd have gone to more places already heh. Take a look at what i've found.

This is the fruit from the silk cotton tree. Well it's really soft! You can practically bring it home to stuff your pillows heh.


Somehow we found many strange little bright red insects around the fruits of the silk cotton tree. Symbiotic relationship? Shrugs. Anyway, if you'd eated NERDS sweets before, think of your cherry nerds walking ard haha. But they were crawling too fast for me to capture. Look what i found instead! it's so cute! that thing has a face on its back!



While walking, we chanced upon a slope of really pretty and bright flowers! Arh, but my camera couldn't capture the brightness. Sigh. this was the best we could obtain. Makes me wanna run up the slope through the flowers! But when i think of bees, wasps, insects, mud and what it takes to run up a slope, it's better to forget it after all heh. Anyway, i wouldnt want to come tumbling down halfway if i cannot make it.



Ha when i first saw this, I got a shock. Omg a big red hairy spider! But i guess not haha. I'm not sure what this is but i've never seen it before! It has long fury limbs sticking out from the stalk. Hmm. i think they're the flowers. termed influorescence (tiny flowers that make up a whole structure). man i hope no biologists are reading this, i'm just wild guessing hehe..

Next, we headed to the beach, where we spent the next few hours stoning, lying against the tree, wading in the water, and talking utter crap. I guess it did me good. Spending too much time alone at home can really drive me nuts when i start talking to myself. And look! a cute little pigeon with an injured leg.. Erm and i've really no idea if that's a pigeon. I've only seen pigeons, mynahs, sparrows and those white birds with really skinny legs (egret?!) no idea really..

Arh... island life, love it. Frankly speaking, I'm so not a beach type of person. Firstly, i dont suntan since i'm fat(so cannot wear bikini). Secondly, i find the grains of sand against my skin painful and irritating. And most of the time, i'd end up sunburnt. The only thing I like about going to the beach is looking at the waves. But yesterday was enjoyable. And I felt the waves wash away my troubles. Well of course not literally, but you get the idea.


Oh and we caught the musical fountain too. But the pics were real bad. so there's no point. Anyway, it wasnt as good as I'd expected it to be. A little lame actually, haha.

That was one fine day spent slacking away. And more to come i'm sure!
