I am loved by you!

So i had my birthday this week. And although i've been meeting up with close friends over meals while enjoying their company (and presents), I couldnt help but feel like it didn't seem like a proper happy birthday. Something seemed to be missing, and it wasn't simply due to the lack of a party, lots of people singing you the birthday song, etc. I couldn't quite pinpoint what was lacking, but I found the answer during midnight on my birthday :)

So, the clock struck 12. MSN conversation windows suddenly popped up with "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Meanwhile, I was getting berated for signing the contract, so I was feeling a little sulky. Then the phone rang. Yokey (my best fren back in pri school) called.

"Hey i thought you're sleeping. You didnt reply our messages."
"ohh.. yeah I didn't check my phone."
"You're free now?"
"Alright la.."
"Hey look out of your living room window."
"HUH why?!?! You're downstairs???"
"Nevermind. just look out la."

ha ok when she told me to look out, I was thinking she doesn't even know where i stay since she's never been to my house before, maybe she went to another house assuming that it's mine so it's probably all a mistake on her part. there's probably nothing downstairs lor. Wait till i've checked, then i can laugh at her muahaha.

And then i looked out and saw this:

ha there was something else below the heart. But sorry it's censored heh. Anyway when i saw that, I stupidly went "Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhh..." My camera sucks and I've shaky hands but it was such a pretty sight!! I couldn't believe my eyes. It's so touching and sweet of them (yoke and tsin). why would anyone do that for me??? I am such a lousy friend and boring person. Why would anyone bother??? But they were really downstairs, nope I wasn't dreaming. So i went down to meet them, and hello, they sang me a birthday song at the top of their voices, at 12am ok! i bet the whole neighbourhood heard it. so embarassing ok, but very happy la heh :).. And I got a tiramisu cake from TCC and lovely floaty cute balloons too! My gosh how did u guys know i've been thinking of tiramisu cakes! And i love those balloons!! although i'm a practical person who thinks that flowers and cutesy things are a waste of money, i've never gotten those balloons before and they're really nice! Just like what a kid gets on her birthday! loitered a bit thereafter downstairs with them until i had to come back since i've work tomorrow (argh).

Well I'd wanted to take a picture of the balloons, but when i came back from work the following day, it wasnt so much a pretty sight anymore :(.. sobs..

But it really made my birthday a very happy one. Pleasant surprises always warm the heart I suppose. And it touches me to know that i'm loved and there're people who'll go the extra mile to make me happy :)
